Portuguese Canadian Heritage Month
Celebration of Portuguese Language and Culture
June has been declared as the Portuguese History & Heritage Month by the Ontario Government, TCDSB and TDSB.
All sites that offer the Extended Day or the Saturday Portuguese International Languages Program will have their celebrations and performances throughout the month of June.
All schools, with a significant number of Portuguese students, will receive a special curriculum package to help them celebrate and transform June into Portuguese History & Heritage Month.

A joint project of the Dundas West BIA and the Little Portugal BIA, the festival promises to be highly engaging, participatory, and community-inspiring, emphasizing the unique character of Dundas Street West. It will take place across 12 city blocks, spanning from the Village of Brockton into Little Portugal with 3 stages, 6 busker areas, 2 kids’ areas, over 40 licensed patios, and vendor stations set up throughout. Special events include the two performances by Clay and Paper Theatre, one at 11:30 a.m. and the other at 3:30 p.m. We will also be joined by a group of buskers playing “Cavaquinho.” Other activities will be ongoing until 6:00 p.m.
