The Monastery of Santa Cruz at Coimbra was a major center of Portuguese music during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The Toronto Consort, guest-directed by the early music specialist and lutenist Žak Ozmo, brings you a Christmas program like you have never heard, full of ravishingly beautifulvillancicos and wild Brazilian-influenced dances, found in the Monastery’s unique archives.

This award aims at recognizing academic excellence in an Elementary Portuguese language class (POR1000). Therefore, the award will honor the best performing student enrolled in the discipline.
